HX Mountain Dulcimer

- Thanks for giving our HX Dulcimer a look. I'm Vince, while in the studio that is, otherwise I'm just dad. I've been making the most of every opportunity to show off our new HX Molded-Back Mountain Dulcimer and now is one of those times. By the way, if you're wondering about the "HX", "H" is for Haley and "X" is the numeral 10. When shmushed together you get 10 Haley's, that's us and we're trying our hand at making music (literally). Several years ago we were introduced to the dulcimer by one of our North Carolina Appalachian mountain dwelling friends. He sure could make some music on that thing! I got to thinking, "I may not be able to play one, but I'm sure I can make one." My goal was simple, use my accumulated skills as an Industrial Designer to rethink and bring new innovations to this somewhat obscure folk instrument. You're looking at the results. So what have we done? We've created a blend of traditional and contemporary. We've merged old-world craftsmanship with new millennium technology. We've improved comfort and playability. We believe we've got just the instrument for old-timers and newbies. We've met up with a few naysayers, but overall our HX molded-back dulcimer has been well received. Currently we are constructing another batch which will soon be ready. Feel free to contact us if you'd like to get your hands on one of our unique instruments. We'll post more images and information soon, so come back for another look.

HX Dulcimer Test Drive By S. Seifert
We first met Stephen Seifert at a workshop in Salem, Ohio hosted by Dulcimore. We took the opportunity to have him test drive our original prototype. He took it through the paces and was quite intrigued. We struck up a friendship and he has evaluated the HX from a technical and playability standpoint on several occassions.
